What is the LEGO MBA program?

LEGO Master Builder Academy is an in-home and online experience in which real LEGO Master Builders share the tips and techniques of basic through advanced building, creativity and design with kids (ages 8 or older) who want to become better builders.

LEGO MBA has four levels of building skills to give kids the best possible building experience.  Each level contains 3 kits, which include a building set, a Designer Handbook with multiple building instructions and tips from the actual designers of the models, and inspiration for new building ideas.  As kids move from one level to another, a color-coded minifigure with buildable accessories acts as a symbol of their mastery of new building techniques.

Each kit unlocks new content in the exclusive LEGO MBA website, a child-safe place for kids to exchange ideas, track their progress through each level of the program, upload pictures of their own LEGO creations, learn from their fellow MBA members, and earn badges for achievements. Online challenges and interactive quizzes help members unlock extra LEGO MBA content, secret building tips and Master Builder videos!

What is in a LEGO MBA kit?

Each LEGO MBA kit includes an 84-page Designer Handbook teaching 2 Master Builder techniques, as well as articles, building instructions with tips from the Master Builders, LEGO bricks to create  multiple new models (one at a time), and exclusive minifigures or accessories. There are three kits in every MBA level.

NOTE: Members will receive an exclusive LEGO MBA Minifigure in the first kit of each new skill level All kits include exclusive buildable minifigure accessories in the theme of the current kit.

What’s in the Designer Handbooks?

Designer Handbooks are awesome, high-quality collectable books with 84 pages of articles, lessons for 2 official LEGO Master Builder building techniques, all-new LEGO building instructions with tips and insights from the real Master Builders, inspiration and challenges for designing your own original LEGO creations.

What does the LEGO MBA program teach beyond building?

LEGO MBA is a comprehensive LEGO design program that teaches not only official LEGO Master Builder building skills and techniques, but also basic design and conceptual skills.

What are 3-in-1 Builds?

This means that the collection of bricks included in each of LEGO MBA kits 1-6 can be used to create 3 different models, one at a time, from the same bricks. Building instructions are included in each kit for all 3 models.  Kits 7-12 offer 11 new building instructions both in books and on LEGOmba.com!

What is LEGO MBA Online?

LEGOmba.com is the official website of the LEGO Master Builder Academy. This members-only site is a safe online environment to upload photos of member creations, receive and share building advice, earn rewards and more. Once subscribed, members can track their accomplishments, complete skill tests and participate in building challenges, as well as discover additional exclusive tips, articles and videos.

Can I really become a LEGO Master Builder and work for the LEGO Group?

Members of the LEGO MBA program will not become LEGO Master Builders. LEGO Master Builders are official employees of The LEGO Group. This program is not for training LEGO Master Builders, but to teach LEGO fans some of the skills, design secrets and advanced building techniques of the LEGO Master Builders.

Do I get discounts on LEGO products for being a LEGO MBA member?

LEGO MBA members do not receive special discounts on LEGO products. However, LEGO MBA subscriptions do include LEGO VIP points! Collect LEGO VIP points for discounted products and more!
